Kite Festival

One of the many reasons we love Austin so much is that there is always something to do. This weekend was the Zilker Park Kite Festival. It was our first year to go, and it was a lot of fun! The kids were able to make a kite and fly it with thousands of others who were flying their kites (we only got tangled twice.) The weather was absolutely beautiful; High 70's and windy (hence the kite tangles.) We sampled some of Austin's famed "trailer food" and Liv got to check out the bounce houses. All in all a very sucessful outing.

A few hits...and one really big miss

Well, so far everything that we have installed for the house we have been really pleased with.  The colors, the trim, cabinets and exterior choices all seemed to be a big hit for us.  We were getting a little ahead of ourselves, patting ourselves on the back thinking we could do no wrong.  Then, I decided to choose a tile off of the interwebs.  I couldn't wait for the "big reveal" to reaffirm what great choices I had made.  Then there she was.  The most gawd awful mix of tile and grout that I have, quite possibly, ever seen.  Lesson learned.
Love the field tile-thinking we will remove the deco and field tile cap altogether and replace with one additional 12 x 24 tile
