Weekend Updates

Master tile-will be used for the shower surround and tub surround also

Tile-used in the living room, entry, kitchen, playroom and hallways

The painted trim and doors

In non house news, my little buddy turned 1 this weekend!  He is getting to be such a little stinker but we love him
so much.  He knows when he isn't supposed to do something and he does it anyway and laughs a little devilish laugh.  He also has
quite the appetite.  He shovels fistfuls of food in his mouth at a time...makes us a little nervous to say the least.  I will be taking Jake to get his one year check-up this week so I can't wait to find out his latest stats!

Olivia is doing great in school and continues to make us laugh.  Her latest obsession is playing "princess" where Greg (or I on occasion) plays the King.  She even refers to us as "My King".  She continues her love of reading.  Lately if she disapears, we know to look for her in her room reading outloud.  She also loves wearing my high heeled shoes.

2 weeks!

We are getting down to the wire-only 2 more weeks until we are finished with the house.  As long as we finish as scheduled, we may be moving in to our new home the first weekend of March!  Tile starts today and I can't wait to see it with everything put together.  Here are a few recent pictures:

Jake's 1st Birthday Party

A few quick pictures from this weekends festivities.  Can't believe my little buddy will be one in less than a week!  We celebrated his birthday at the Salt Lick, with BBQ, cupcakes and presents.  Here are just a few shots....I am so mad that I didn't get a family picture...it is on my agenda!
Jake didn't realize that he needed to be AWAKE for the party

 His Mickey Mouse cupcake
He ate his fair share of brisket, beans and cupcakes

He loves all of his new toys!  (So does his big sister)

More (small) Updates

Maybe it is getting hard to tell from my numerous posts/ photos, but we are getting so close!  We've got cabinets finished, stone near completion, and a fireplace/ mantel in the works!  Painters should start today/ tomorrow.

I can't wait to see the backsplash-it is going all the way up to the ceiling behind the venthood.  You can see the lite rail that we added at the bottom of the cabinets.

The stone columns around the cedar beams is another favorite of mine.  They are canted also.  The space between the stucco and the stone will have a row of chopped stone pieces (like above the large window to the left).  Can't wait to see the cedar with a dark brown stain!

Another view of the finished cabinets...looks kinda weird without countertops.  We also need to add the stainless steel pulls to all of the doors/ drawers.

Cabinets are in?

The cabinets were a little late being delivered to the house yesterday, so the installer was still working before we headed out to a Superbowl party this afternoon. We aren't sure that he finished, but here are a few pictures of the progress so far.

Our trim which will be painted a "cool" white color

Cabinets waiting to be installed

Another view of the kitchen, the doorway leads to the laundry room/ garage and the door on the right is the pantry.  Cabinets will go all the way to the ceiling with crown moulding.
Updated exterior...still a ways to go, but you can see the stucco details above the window, the band around the house where the stone meets the stucco and the way the stone slants out.
The shed roof...maybe my favorite exterior detail so far

Outside Progress

Today they are working on the stone!  The stucco is finished and painted, as is the exterior trim.  The interior trim is being installed today, so hopefully I will have some pictures with actual doors to show soon!
It is very hard to tell in this picture, but where the guys are working the sides of the stone will taper out a bit instead of being straight up and down.  (I realize that makes no sense, better pictures to follow of this).  We are getting pretty excited now because everytime we go over to the house (which is every day) there is some new development.
