The big day....until my battery died

I am so mad at myself for not packing my back up camera battery for the wedding. I will say, I did successfully pack EVERYTHING we needed for the kiddos (and then some). Here are the last few pictures pre wedding. Thank goodness for the professionals and family.

Oops!

In my mad dash effort to get my picture uploading up to date, I forgot to include a few other wedding events. Here are a few pictures that I took from the Bachelorette Party in Austin.

Lately

I wanted to post a few new pictures, but had to share a few funny stories in the process. Olivia has been repeating word for word what we say. This weekend we had a girl date, just her and I. While leaving lunch she asked me to open her window. I told her it was too hot and that I would just turn on the air. She protested that she was not hot, but I told her it would be too hot for me (it was in the 90's!) and left it at that. Fast forward a day or two to me opening the sunroof and Olivia telling me, "Close the window, it's too hot for me."
Olivia is sleeping pretty well in her big girl bed, with the occasional request to sleep in "brudders" room. A few nights ago she came in to"our" room (I'm sleeping in Jakes room until he sleeps a little better thru the night so Greg can get some sleep). I thought she was asleep, fell asleep myself and woke up to her holding her sleeping bag in one hand, iPod in the other, ready to camp out with us. She loves to play "Daddy's favorite song over and over and over again on the iPod. If I never hear Randy Rogers Band again I would be just fine! Her teachers were pretty impressed with her art-she colors/ paints the entire page where most of her classmates only color a small area. Also, her teachers said they were impressed last week when she took her potted flower from one center to the center with dirt/ rakes/ shovels etc. They said out of all 12 kiddos she was the only one to see the correlation. I'm pretty proud of her!
Jake is doing great, still eats frequently during the day but sleeping 5-6 hour stretches at night. Olivia is constantly loving on him and checking on him. He seems so strong, always holding his head up well and loves to look at the collection of Olivia's pictures on our living room wall or a ceiling fan. He is so sweet!

My horrific photography skills!

meet jake

We are so excited to introduce our newest little family member...Jake Finnegan Barber. Once again I was blessed with a fairly easy delivery (and fast!). I started having contractions Friday morning around 12 or 1. We called in Aunt Linds and made it to the hospital by 3:45am. At 7:20 my doctor said it was go time and he was here at 7:33am. Not too shabby. Jake weighed 8 pounds 4 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. (Slightly shorter and chubbier than Liv).
First meeting Jake-when he cried she told him to relax (something I say to her when she has a melt down)
Nana helped her make special blue cupcakes for her "baby brudder".
He has been the sweetest baby. Other than having day and night mixed up, he is a total angel. Olivia is in love. She wants to hold "her" all the time and loves to give Jake kisses and rub his head. Yesterday she wanted to hold him, and I was asking her if she was going to share her toys with Jake when he got older. She said she would, then a little later she said, "We can play trains, hide and seek, but we can't slam doors." Haha, already showing him the ropes!
Greg has taken off all week and is looking forward to taking Olivia on a few dates besides helping me around the house. Thank goodness, because going from one to two kiddos is hard work!
